Our Mission
Our mission is to foster a sustainable, well-connected, highly trained Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) research community in Canada that is internationally recognized and known for both its excellence in research and its contributions to understanding CAM and its use.
Our Objectives
Our objectives are to facilitate, support and create high-quality, interdisciplinary, collaborative CAM research and build CAM research capacity in the following priority research areas: 1) the study of the efficacy, effectiveness and safety of CAM modalities and products, and 2) CAM health care delivery and policy, by:
- Maintaining and expanding a sustainable network that supports researchers studying CAM in the network's research priority areas and facilitates collaboration to help establish the close relationships that are necessary to conduct high quality, interdisciplinary research.
- Promoting knowledge transfer among researchers, health care practitioners, policy makers and research funders about CAM; and
- Linking with other relevant networks, organizations and educational institutions to develop partnerships that further our objectives and reduce duplication of efforts.
